About
How we report
Worlds in Waiting follows upcoming MMOs and online worlds. Here is how a story gets onto this site, and who is responsible for it.
Who we are
Worlds in Waiting is run by Helmer. Stories marked “WIW Newsdesk” are drafted with software from public sources and published automatically. Helmer reviews every newsdesk story, and each one carries the byline “WIW Newsdesk, reviewed by Helmer” together with the number of public sources it is based on. We never claim authorship or play experience that has not happened. Stories marked “By Helmer” are written by him.
Where stories come from
We monitor developer posts, Steam pages, official sites and a short list of gaming outlets. A story needs at least one primary source, such as the studio itself or a public record, or two independent outlets reporting the same thing.
What we will not publish
Rumours without a source, deal posts, and games outside our focus on online worlds. We publish at most three newsdesk stories a day.
Images
Images come first from official studio press kits and official sites; credited Steam store screenshots are also allowed (Helmer, 16/10-2026), self-hosted as WebP with a visible credit and alt text. We never hotlink Steam, use auto-generated share cards, or use AI-generated images. If you hold the rights to an image and want it removed, contact us and we will take it down.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change at the bottom of the story. Send errors and tips to the newsdesk.
