SEED
A persistent society simulator MMO from Klang Games where every character is player-owned and the world runs continuously. Early Access launches July 21, 2026.
About this world
SEED is a massively multiplayer society simulator set on Avesta, a single persistent planet. Players are Cultivators guiding Seedlings — their characters — through full life cycles: birth, work, relationships, aging, inheritance and death. When a player logs off, their Seedlings continue working, sleeping, and socialising autonomously. The simulation runs 24 hours a day. There are no NPCs. Every role in society — governance, law enforcement, food production, trade — is filled by players. Klang Games, founded by veterans of CCP and EVE Online, has described SEED as a permanent social experiment: a world that keeps evolving regardless of who is logged in, where every decision carries generational weight. Early Access launches July 21, 2026, via Klang's own PC launcher; Steam follows in autumn 2026. Entry price is $29.99. Founder's Packs (limited to 10,000) went on pre-sale June 15, 2026, and include extra Seedling slots, cosmetics, and a hand in founding the first societies. The concept is unlike anything else currently releasing. The risk is proportionate: a world that runs on pure player participation can produce extraordinary emergent stories or collapse into dysfunction depending on the quality and commitment of its initial population.
Why it matters
SEED is attempting something MMOs have only partially managed: a world authentically shaped by its players, not by developer-scripted content. If the systems hold and the community commits, it could become one of the most interesting persistent social experiments online gaming has produced.
Community signals
Active Discord with over 10,000 members ahead of launch. Closed beta underway. Strong interest from players who remember what EVE Online felt like when civilisation was still forming. Founder's Pack pre-sale opened June 15, 2026.
